Reunion Date Announced

The official invitation came in the mail yesterday. The reunion is scheduled for July 22nd at the Sheraton next to the OP Convention Center. There were fewer than 10 people listed as "missing" in the invitation and none of our group's MIA are on that list.

David Eastburn Probably Found

Okay, okay. I yield. Sorry I've been slack on tracking David down. I found in my email archives an email from him on June 20th 2005.

dceastburn@yahoo.com

I've emailed him at that acct and gave him the link to our blog. I'll let you know if he replies, assuming he still uses that acct.

update and link to blog

Hi, all, this is Elizabeth. I'll try to do my "quick" update although I tend to go on and on via email. In college, I got into museums (for some unknown reason) and moved home to KC, working at Missouri Town 1855 (yes, I wore the costume, churned butter, etc. You may commence with the fun-making now.) During that time I also broke it off with my college sweetheart and started dating a guy here in town. Unwisely, when he got a job transfer to Atlanta, I moved down there with him.

That all ended in a huge hairy mess, but I did get a great career op. out of it at the Smith Plantation Home in Roswell, GA. I liked Atlanta okay, but I knew I wanted to move home to KC. It took me a couple of years to make my way back here because I'm stubborn as hell, and I wanted to do everything on my own terms.

I got back here in March of '04, and lived with my parents:) I got a job at the American Jazz Museum and met a guy I like a lot. I'm still doing my music thing, and I volunteer some, when I can. I also got a house in KC, KS right near Westport, so the Home Depot type stuff takes up a lot of my time, too. No pets or kids, yet, but Ian and I will be married in May so we're hoping to get started with a family while I'm in grad school. . .I'll be going to KU and therefore no longer with the Jazz Museum.

That was pretty long so I'll shut up. I will mention that I don't link my various blogs on my profile on blogger.com, because I don't want relatives logging onto my wedding blog finding my personal blog:) But you all can check it out if you want: www.ebeth0000.blogspot.com

It's so cool hearing from everyone--I hope I can see some of you this summer.

two halfhearted tries. . .

OK, I found a Swearengin in Olathe, KS--(913) 782-4653 but it's Nathan and Rachel. Since I can't clearly recall Shera's sibling situation, I don't know if they're related, but they sound young on the answering machine (i.e., not her parents) and I chickened out and didn't leave a message.

Also, tried (913) 768-0771 for Julia Francis, but got a machine (woman's voice) saying you've reached the Francis family. Also chickened out and didn't leave message. Sooooo, if anyone wants to 1) take a stab at reaching these people for more info yourselves or 2) having another party where we get drunk enough to not care about drunk-dialing high school friends so I feel a bit more comfortable leaving a message like "hi, uh, you may not know me but I'm trying to reach _____. We went to high school together?"

Anyway, it's hard with girls because names can change. We don't even know if they're still Francis or Swearengin. I don't know about Shera's personal feelings on the matter, but I'd ditch "Swearengin" for just about anything except maybe "Butts" or "Dyche" or something like that;) I'm totally jettisoning Schmidt in favor of Arnold--people can pronounce it and I get to be at the front of the alphabet for once in my life!

Eastburn?

So, is someone going to try that number for Dave? I sacked up and call the Lisa number...someone else's turn this time...

:)

Update on the hang-spot

I talked to my dad today. I mentioned something about using his house as a Group get together spot when all this goes down. He is WAY excited about it. Like, "catering and hiring staff to work the party" excited.

I don't know if we have a definite date for the reunion week/weekend, but Becki is getting married on 6/10/06. Let's hope it's not right around then. And preferably after.

While there's little room in the basement anymore, the rest of the house is going to be awesome for this kind of thing.

Rawk.

Found: Lisa (Logan) Anderson

As the confirmation shows below, we found Lisa. I called the number that was posted, and sure enough, it was correct!

From her e-mail:

I'm still in JoCo if anyone else is close or might be visiting for the holidays. I'd love to meet any spouses and/or kids as well! I have been married almost 5 yrs now, have a 3 yr old son and one more on the way (june 06). Life is good, but flying by. Hope to hear from you soon.

Okay, I'll Bite.

So, who do we think Anoni Mis is? See comments for post "Turn the camera off, Lindsey," and link to their helpful blog, "Who Am I Can You Guess?"

So, either it's someone who knows us or. . .

(duh- dun DUN!!!!)

a very creepy individual with waaay too much time to surf other people's blogs, randomly looking up strangers on the internet, with a Wes Craven-ish plot to murder us all at the reunion.

Whoever it is, they got mad skillz at the art of the internet people search, yo.

Who do YOU think it is? I guess there's no reason someone couldn't set up an extra blogger identity using a throwaway email address. It could be any one of us. It could even be me.

Ok, it's not me. But you know what I'm saying. If I had a goatee, I would stroke it thoughtfully right now.

oh I am planning on uploading more--I am the queen of digital pictures so beware my friends. . .

Found: Matt Heil

I'm calling you out Matt!

After minutes of exhaustive internet research, I was able to locate Matt Heil. Aiding in my search was the fact that Matt is an accomplished little busy beaver in Arizona, serving as a reporter for a newspaper, and now an aide to a Pheonix Councilman. That's right, one of our own is in politics--you knew it had to happen someday. He's at matthew.heil@phoenix.gov. That ".gov" at the end means he can't play on blogger with us during the daytime hours, but maybe we'll hear from him some evening.
